This roots double bill opens with Sister Carol, a leading figure of conscious reggae and dancehall whose voice has championed emancipation, social justice and women’s rights for decades. After a short and seamless changeover, the evening continues with Cimarons, pioneers of British reggae born from the Jamaican migration experience in the United Kingdom, whose music chronicles the hopes, resistance and realities of the Caribbean diaspora.
