Pavlensky.
Man and Might

Irene Langemann

DE • 2016 • 99’ • VO/OV st Fr/En

The art of Pyotr Pavlensky is a challenge to power. During each of his public performances, he manipulates his material: the Russian system. Police, justice, and the media: he disturbs, fascinates and shakes things up. He takes huge risks and puts his body in jeopardy. Thanks to his incredible robustness and the symbolism of his art, he is the unbowed man incarnate, fearless in the face of power, which reduces people to objects and artists to silence.
