The Girl who Saved my Life

Hogir Hirori

SE • 2016 • 79’ • VO/OV st Fr/En

Hogir, a Kurdish refugee who has rebuilt his life in Sweden, returns to Iraq to film the exodus of more than a million Yazidis fleeing ISIS. On the side of a road, he comes across a young girl, Souad, who has taken ill. He searches for a doctor to care for her, but when he returns she has disappeared. This brief encounter makes him miss a helicopter which later crashes. Hogir gets the idea to try and find the girl who saved his life. In the chaos of exodus, this mission is like looking for a needle in a haystack.
