In a hospital for the poorest women in Manila, up to a hundred babies are born each day. This total immersion into the world’s busiest maternity ward yields scenes that are both universal and surrealistic. Initially, the viewer feels like a voyeuristic intruder, but then they get to know the heroines of this story and discover the impact of the family and traditions on their living conditions.
