The War Show

Andreas Mol Dalsgaard, Obaidah Zytoon

Festival des Libertes 2017:
SMART special jury award

SMart Honourable Mention: “The SMart jury would also like to award an honourable mention to a second journal-type film, The War Show, which also moved us. The film tracks a long period of contemporary Syrian history and evokes a lot of its aspects by way of a chronological narration and an educational structure in chapter form. The War Show shows us that history is a succession of small events that suck us into the vortex. The film lulls us with soaring music and a voice-over worthy of a diary. We become attached to the people, to the friends being filmed in their private lives: young men and women seeking freedom, most of whom are sure to die.”
