Ifeoma Fafunwa puts together a theatre project with women from the floating slum of Makoko in Lagos, Nigeria. Even before rehearsals begin, Mrs. F. has to deal with the concerns of powerful men in the community, who view the project unfavourably. Little by little, the budding actresses learn to express themselves and begin the journey to empowerment on the stage.
