With more than a dash of humour, the director transforms himself into a sound engineer and heads off to learn about the different measures restricting freedom of speech around the world: China, Iran, the United States, India, etc. He demonstrates more than a little daring in interviewing people working on the frontlines as censors. What do these censors have in common? They all seem convinced that they are acting for a good cause.
